Founded by Brandon —Builder and Designerin One
Brandon founded Excel Home Builders in 2016 after observing a consistent problem in Los Angeles construction: designers who created beautiful plans without understanding what was buildable, and contractors who executed without any design thinking at all. Homeowners were caught between the two — managing miscommunication, absorbing cost overruns, and often ending up with results that didn't match what they'd been sold.
He built Excel Home Builders around a different idea. By integrating design and construction under one roof, the team could eliminate the handoff failures that caused most project problems. Nearly a decade later, that approach has shaped every project the company has delivered — from bathroom renovations in Encino to full custom builds in Calabasas.
Brandon remains involved in every project — not just at the contract phase, but throughout construction. His involvement is what keeps quality consistent and communication clear.

After the consultation, we provide a detailed written estimate and move into the design phase. You see plans, materials, and selections before anything is ordered or started. Every decision is yours to approve.

Permitting & Pre-Construction
We manage all permits relevant to your project — from straightforward building permits to complex multi-agency submissions. Pre-construction coordination includes material lead times, trade scheduling, and site logistics.

Construction & Site Management
Our team executes on schedule and on spec. Daily site oversight, consistent trade coordination, and proactive communication keep your project moving. If something comes up, you hear about it the same day — with options, not excuses.

Final Walkthrough & Handoff
We close every project with a detailed walkthrough. Every item on the punchlist is resolved before we consider the project complete. You sign off when you're satisfied — not when we're done.

Yes. We're a licensed California General Contractor (CSLB #1131444) with full general liability insurance and contractor bonding. We provide documentation on request — any legitimate contractor should be willing to do the same.
Do you work with subcontractors or your own crew?
We operate with a consistent in-house team for core construction work and coordinate trusted trade partners for specialized work like electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. Every partner we bring onto your project has been vetted and works to our standards.
How long have you been in business?
Excel Home Builders was founded in 2016. We've been remodeling and building homes across Los Angeles for nearly a decade.
What areas do you serve?
